WHEELING, W.Va., Jan. 7, 2017 -- We had to wait until game 5 on Saturday to get a competitive game in the 4th quarter, and even the contest between DeMatha (MD) and Roselle Catholic (NJ) needed a strong final eight minutes from the Lions to force a close call.
DeMatha used a solid 1st half (33-19) and held on in the final minute to secure a (66-61) triumph of Roselle Catholic.
The Stags looked extremely strong in the 1st half before Roselle Catholic began cutting into the lead in the 3rd quarter. 6-foot-11 junior Nazeron Reid was ultra assertive throughout the game, which helped the Lions nearly earn a comeback win. Reid’s effort fueled a 26-point final frame, but the Stags held on to victory thanks to some last minute stops.

The Notre Dame signee scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, all of which were defensive. 6-foot-7 senior John McRae added 14 points and Delaware signee Ryan Allen had 11 points and four assists. Towering 6-foot-11 freshman Hunter Dickinson, showed tons of potential, en route to scoring 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting.
